Automotive Holdings Group is the new exclusive distributor of Husqvarna motorcycles for Australia and New Zealand. The announcement was made in a media release on Friday, November, 15.
AHG says it plans to establish a new business unit, HQVA, to conduct the importation and distribution. It will operate separately from its existing KTM -- Husqvarna’s new parent company -- operations.
“The combination of tradition, a 110-year company history, added to KTM’s state-of-the-art technology and devotion to detail offer a very special brand experience,” said AHG managing director Bronte Howson. “This makes Husqvarna a serious contender in the off-road market where we already have a strong presence with the popular KTM brand.
“We expect the Husqvarna model range to complement our KTM offering.”
The brand will be distributed through an already established dealer network, and will come online from January 2014.
The Gold Coast-based Paul Feeney Group is the big loser in the Husqvarna distribution rights reshuffle, and will only be left with TGB ATVs in its local portfolio.
